The first of the above, John William Overall was engaged in the practice of law for some years and also was the editor of several papers in New Orleans and St. Louis, Mo., going to New York as leading
Literary writer on the Sunday Mercury. Opie P. Read styles Mr. Overall as a Typical Journalist”. Hs is also an Author of Poems. In Davidson's "Living Writers of the South" a biographical sketch is given of Mr. Overall and Judge Reed of Alabama, and "Pearl Rivers" have each dedicated their book of Poems to him. He died in New York in ______ his wife and daughter still reside there.
