208 Gibson County Court, February Term, 1914 Will of L. A. Thompson I L.A. Thompson being of a sound and disposing mind make and publish this as my last will and testament revoking and making void all others by me at any time made. First -it- is my desire that all my just -debts- be paid, Second I give and bequeath to my wife Martha Thompson all my household and kitchen furniture of every description and also all live- stock on hand of every description, except- such as I have already given my children, and known by the family to belong to them, and I also bequeath and give to my wife, Martha Thompson, all my farming tools of every description and I also give and bequeath to her all my notes and money on hand and in Bank, and said notes are to be collected by her or her agent. And I also give and bequeath to my wife Martha Thompson my home place during here natural life or so long as she remains my widow, and said farm is bounded on the North by Crenshaw, on the East by the Mitchell place, on the South by J.B. and J.G. Thompson, and on the West by Mud Creek, and con- taining by estimation 142 acres be the same more or less. And at the death of my wife Martha Thomp- son or when she ceases to be my widow, I direct - on that -event- that the above described tract of land revert to my heirs. The balance of my real estate I direct -to- be sold by my Executor, to the best ad- vantage, and if necessary divide the tracts which con- sists all told about two hundred thirty six acres and same to be sold for one third cash and balance on one and two years credit and retaining a lien on the land to secure the deferred payments, -And I hereby authorize and empower my Executor to make deed or deeds to any lands sold and to be as binding as if I had sold the real estate myself. And it - is not my desire that the land should be pushed on the market -but- take time to sell to a good advantage, and I think my Executor should have as much as four years to wind up my estate. I now direct and bequest the money divided from the real estate sold as follows, First- I give and bequest to my 209 Gibson County court, February Term, 1914 son Hollis Thompson, One Thousand Dollars. Then I di- rect that the balance of the money be divided equally between my children as follows. Euranna Corley, J. H. Thompson, Belle Smith, Ben Thompson, Lessie Thomp- son, Carrie Thompson, Clint - Thompson, and Martha Eviline Thompson with this exception, I have already advanced and do now charge up to my Daughter Eu- ranna Corley Four Hundred Dollars which shall be ac- counted for on this division. I nominate and appoint my son J. H. Thompson as Executor -to- this my last will and testament. And it is my desire that he advise and consult with J. W.
